Just started reception, behaving horribly!

My DS just started reception. He was ready for it, he's doing well, learnt to read in a week, seems very happy etc etc.

BUT his behaviour at home has deteriorated - tantrums, pushing, whining, immediately doing something he's been told not to, the works.

This is normal, right? I'm torn between trtying to ride it out on the basis that he's tired, this is a big change etc, and coming down like a ton of bricks because he is driving me crazy Grin.

Any advice? Or virtual gin?

Thank you! And 4 weeks until half term, heaven help us!

You're right, he is little. He looks so grown up in his uniform and is so proud of everything he's learning, but he is still my baby Smile

It passes v v quickly

I remember otherwise sunny DD on the way home in her first week, sitting on middle of pavement with the anchors on, purple with rage, shouting BOLLOCKS. Passers by giving me the stink eye

so it could be worse Flowers

I tried to bring everything forward when my dd started school so I could get her to bed. I was practically reading her bedtime story in the car.

I have just sent that other thread to my husband. Not this one, wouldn't do for him to see what else I post
