White dot on 4 month olds gum?

My little boy (16 weeks) has this white dot on his gum. It can't be a tooth because it's in the wrong place,, it seems too low. What could it be? Doesn't seem to worry him. He has his fists in his mouth constantly though.

My DD had a similar looking white dot in her gum at 3 months, but had all the usual teething symptoms with it. I mentioned it to the dr at her check up & he said it was the tooth bed, as opposed to a tooth & was perfectly normal.

If it's not bothering him I don't think I'd worry too much about it, but I'm no expert :)

Actually, I think my DD's was a bit bigger and hard but smooth, so looked like a tooth coming through in a weird place so I thought it was a tooth at first.

It's an epithelial pearl, DD2 had one when she was 10 weeks, it went after a month or so.

HV said they are completely harmless and don't bother baby at all.

I thought this was a tooth at first. But it's in the wrong place. Thank you for your answer, I'm not worried, just curious Smile
