Growing pains?

My 3.1yo DS has started saying his legs hurt. It's not all the time and it's always when he's using them so if we've just stared waking somewhere or climbing steps etc, and not if he's just sitting/lying down.

He's very active and usually walks everywhere and goes on his balance bike and runs and jumps and everything you'd normally expect from a healthy active 3yo.

I wonder if it's just the odd bit of weariness or he's just saying it to see what effect it has or could it be something like growing pains? We used to 'get' growing pains when we were growing up but I don't know if they're an actual thing or not...!?

My 4yo DD is the same. DrGoogle seems to suggest that growing pains are normal and that unless there are other symptoms (limping, swelling of joints, fever) they are nothing to worry about.
