I'm at breaking point with my 4.5 ds

I'm suffering from depression, have no support and he is a a really, stubborn and naturally rebellious child, (as they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree) but I can't talk the constant agreeing about EVERYTHING, Done parents classes, doing everything I should, but not sure how much longer I can cope.....help..

Sorry to hear that you are suffering. Have you been to the GP and talked about your depression?

not yet as I have a really long waiting list fro my GP, and I want to wait till he's at school as I don't him to hear me talking about it

That's such a shame. When is he back at school? Could you try to book an appointment now for when you are free? Is there a Homestart near to you? Bperhaps you could get a volunteer to give you a break once a week?

Speak to your health visitor and to school in September I had some trouble with my ds and it certainly helped me. The hv came out to see us and offered me some support but it also made ds realise how bad his behaviour was that a "nurse " had to come to his home to speak to him about it. Also he didn't want to let his teacher down either so we devised a system between us (at the teacher suggestion ) I'd send in a picture of a happy or sad face in his school bag to say how he'd been that morning and previous evening and likewise she'd send one home at the end of the school day. Ds was mortified when I had to send in a sad face and consequently his behaviour improved.
