21 month old and the bottle

My 21 month old DD still had one bottle of milk a day (first thing in the morning). She clearly enjoys and wants it as she'll have 7-8oz.

I of course wan her to ditch the bottle and have it in a cup but each time we've tried she's refused.

Admittedly I haven't really persisted and am thinking I now need to.

I think she associates milk with the bottle and also warm milk (we used a machine up until she was 1 (perfect prep machine) that prepared a bottle to the perfect temperature so she's use to having it heated).

Weirdly the days she's at nursery she'll have maybe 4/5oz of cold milk in a cup?!?

Is she too young to introduce a 'bottle fairy' or equivalent?

Just need some advice on possible ways we can ditch the bottle.

TIA

Watching with interest as my almost 2 yo is the same - although still has milk first thing and in the evening. We switched to a beaker type teat about 13 months but she won't have milk out of anything else. Admittedly not tried that hard either - am picking my battles! But would like her on a cup soon. And potty trained but that's another thread!!

mind's the same age. I'd just give it to her in a cup or beaker and if she gets upset tell her there are no bottles today. if she won't drink it it doesn't matter. just keep offering it each day or asking her, but it doesn't matter if she drinks milk at this age if she's eating. I don't see the issue.

I don't see it as a problem. My 2 year old still has a bottle before bed.

If you really want to ditch it, put water in the bottle and milk in a beaker. Let her choose.
Don't give in!

We've only just ditched the morning bottle and DD is 27m! We used to give it to her in bed so just distract her by taking her straight downstairs for breakfast.

If if isn't messing with breakfast, is it a problem? I like the fact DD was having that amount of fluid, we've been watering hers down for ages, prob since 18m ish.
