2 yr old only drinking from bot bot

Hi. My 2 year old will only drink from a bottle with a teat (MAM brand).
Unfortunately, because he has been constipated since birth I have just been happy he has been getting liquid into him (which helps his bowels).
I am wanting to get him onto a beaker or tippy cup and am constantly offering him one. He has access to one constantly but just ignores it.
I have also tried taking his bottle away and only allowing him a beaker but this causes huge temper tantrums and refuses to drink.
Has anyone else had this problem . I feel like I have the only 2 yr old in the world still having his bot bot Blush.
Xx

I really wouldn't worry. Whenever my children did something like this (refusing to give up dummies, coming out of nappies at night etc) I just used to tell myself that they wouldn't still be doing it on their wedding day. Thankfully I was right!

slowly make the hole in the teet bigger, eventually start cutting bits off.

I disagree, I'd just go cold turkey. Tell him he's a big boy now and the bottle fairy wants them to give to a baby and put them in a box. Then when he's asleep, through the box away.

I went cold turkey with my DD when she was 22 months. I threw all of the bottles away so I wouldn't cave. She had tantrums daily and threw her cup at me! Eventually her thirst got the better of her, but it took a while.

I have a chronically constipated child too, and liquids are SO important, so I would carry on using the path of least resistance right now.

Cold turkey. We had to do it when ds was 20m. He would only drink water from a bottle. We threw them all in the bin and that was that.

We had huge tantrums and refusal to drink much for a day or two and then he forgot all about it and drank from cups. It was so much easier than we thought it would be.

Agree with going cold turkey, sorry. We tried every available tactic with dd1 and absolutely nothing worked. In the end I rang the hv in desperation (I really was desperate!) who advised cold turkey. We had a couple of tantrummy days but that was the end of it.

Same with dd2.
