Ebf 6 week old wee smells like poo?

My 6 week old ebf son usually poos several times a day up till now. I know they can become less frequent but he hasn't done a poo for nearly 2 days and his wee smells like poo. Should I take him to the doc or is this normal?

Six weeks tends to be when their guts slow down a bit, in my experience. It's normal for BF babies not to poo every day.

As for the smell, are you sure it isn't a fart? There's no way that he could be peeing out faecal matter, if that's what you're worried about.

I'm sure it's not a fart, his nappies have smelt of poo all day but there has been none. I'm worried he might have a uti, I'm going to phone NHS24 in the morning.

What nappies are you using? I find some disposable worse than others. They smell like poo when wet. When I changed from pampers new baby to baby dry I noticed it and their active fit ones are the worst!

We are using Aldi nappies. Not noticed this before but then rarely had a nappy with just wee in it! Might try a different nappy and see if it persists.

Ime cheap nappies smell like poo even when they're just wet. It's peculiar. Don't worry that he hasn't been for two days - they can go up to ten days before the doctor will take an interest, as long as they're still doing lots of wet ones :)

Im using pampers on my 4 week old and I have gone to do nappy changes thinking I can smell a whiff but turns out to be just wee.
don't remember my last baby having this, Im putting it down to the nappies and maybe a concentrated wee or something I have been dinking/eating.
