Hello, I have a 14 week old little boy. He is doing very well. Born at 6lb8 and I last got him weighed at 12 weeks he was almost 13lb.
But he only ever takes 4oz of milk at the most! I know I shouldn't compare but other babies his age are on 7oz.
He feeds every 2 to 3 hours and goes 5 to 6 hours at night.
Is this normal to take so little? He has roughly 6 or 7 bottles a day which is 20 to 24oz milk a day?

6-7 bottles in 24 hours that means.

My dd was on around 7 oz bottles at that age.

It doesnt matter whats hes taking as long as hes not dehydrated and hes putting on weight.

At 12 weeks 13lb is average weight.

If 4oz is all he wants then i personally wouldnt be worried.

Hes having the right amount over the 24hrs for his size other dc his age might be taking 6 or 7oz but only having 4 or 5 bottles a day so it all evens out. If hes happy putting on weight with plenty wet nappies then I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah that's true, didn't think of it like that. Thank you

My dd normally took 4oz every 2 hours on the dot!!! She slept very well and put on weight as she had a high enough volume over the whole day. As stated above, smaller volumes but more frequently all adds up to about the same as a few 7oz bottles during the day

Perhaps some babies just prefer little and often then. There's just bottles everywhere! Haha Grin
