Screaming before feeding

Anyone got any ideas on how to deal with a baby (18 weeks) who has just started screaming before a feed? He's obviously hungry and yet screams, turns purple and refuses to take the bottle. After about 5 minutes he takes it and away we go. Occasionally he will then scream mid-feed and we will start all over again. Other times it's all as normal. Up until now, he's fed fine with no problems at all. I've been careful to wind him so don't think it's that. All thoughts welcome!

I looked after a little boy like this once in a nursery, it turned out we just needed to get his bottle quicker! So whereas his usual bottle was 9.00am then a nap, we got the milk ready for him at 8.45, and made sure he was feeding by 8.55. Believe it or not it worked!!
I don't know if you're BF or bottle feeding, but could you try offering it a little earlier? Maybe as he's growing he's wanting it sooner?!

HTH!

thanks. Will definitely give that a go. I do tend to leave feeding him until it's obvious he wants it so this might really help!

Good Luck! I'm sure there'll be more help and suggestions along if this doesn't work!

Have tried two bits of advice: yours (mumatuks) and Jam77's; so have (a) fed when he starts being hungry rather than waiting until it's obvious, and (b) changed to a new formula. And, touch wood, it seems to have worked a treat. So, Thank you!
