How much weight can a 3 week old gain in a week?

My baby girl is 3 weeks old and a week ago, she weighed 8lb 11oz. A 13oz weight gain since birth.

So today, I had her weighed and I was verbally told 9lb 5oz by the health visitor. So a 10 ounce weight gain in exactly a week. Seemed ok.

Got home, looked in her book and for some reason her weight was noted as 10lb 5oz. Now I'm not sure how much she gained.

To jump from 8lb 11oz to 10lb 5oz seems too much (26 ounces!!)

So I assume she is 9lb 5oz and the Hv made a mistake..

I will get her weighed again in the next few weeks. But am worried they will think she's lost weight if she is under 10lb 5oz or not gaining..

don't over think it. If she seems happy & settled in herself then you are doing right. x

I reckon she was thinking 'gained 10' so wrote 10 pounds in place of 9, as she had 10 on the brain if you see what I mean

Don't worry! I bet it was a mistake, just point it out next weigh in.
DS1 was a massive guzzler and gained c1lb a week, she's just made a mistake.
