What's a muscle enzyme test?!

So DS is rather behind developmentally. He's 21 months and can't talk or walk (though he did take three steps yesterday!)

The paed has put him in for a hip X-ray and a muscle enzyme test. I have no idea what that is?! I know there's Google but I could really do with out their worst case scenarios at the minute! TIA

A muscle enzyme test could be done for many reasons..often in children it's done to test for muscle damage.

Perhaps they want to rule that out as a cause of slow walking..though he's obviously walking now so well done to him for that!

Ah right, the doctor did try to explain it but at that point DS was not impressed and wanting to leave which meant I could barely hear him! I'm dreading the blood test and X-ray he is the least cooperative child there is!
