Just what am I doing wrong?

Do excuse me but can I just say I am having a FING AWFUL DAY!
I feel tired, stressed, scatty and spaced. My ds (4 in December) is tun ing into this and seems to have found the only pen lying within his reach in the house and drawn all over the mantelpiece with it despite having been told hundreds of times to only ever draw on paper (enough to say to himself "must only draw on paper" when he has a pen). He's been told off for drawing on walls before so he knows it's wrong. Oh and will it wash off - will it f!
Now he's just gained access to the bathroom (I left him watching TV while I washed up) and he has got toothpaste and plastered the PC desk with it. WTF is he up to - he KNOWS this is wrong. The only reason he has got away with it is because I feel that having left the bathroom door unlocked it's partly my fault.

So so pissed off with it all today.

DS is awaiting an assessment by the Early Years senco lady as he lacks concentration skills of the other chgildren his age - all I can say is he was able to concentrate enough to deck the place in toothpaste and red pen.

I'm sorry you are having a tough day. FWIW I left ds with his childminder this morning with a sigh of relief and a slight pang of guilt on her behalf .

Feel free to offload here.

Aragon, doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong.

Tea, and countdown to DS bedtime, maybe?

Try hairspray, or nail varnish remover on pen on walls. (Creeps away very quietly to avoid getting in crossfire.....)

hope your day got better. You got a very expressive ds there. maybe one day he'll have his art work in galleries and he'll pass him mum back a few bob.

Hope your day has improved. We have had lots of 'Art Attack' incidents over time.
He sounds normal to me. I remember one particular incident when my dd found my large box of soap-powder and made a lovely creation all over the kitchen floor. Kitchen smelt nice after we'd cleaned it up.
Our youngest now 3 has drawn in felt tip all over the table and a leather chair (joined in the later stages by her 6yo sister)in recent months. Fortunately, it was washable felt tips.
It does wear off and they do get the message eventually doesn't feel like much consolation at the time though, does it?
