Does anyone know why my toddler does this?

At bedtime cries in desperation and despair when I put DC in the cot to sleep at night. But when DH does it, there is peace and quiet Confused

We have the same routine which involves bath, teeth, story cuddle, and then bed.

I hate the crying, it rips right through me! It sounds fearful and I feel terrible to walk away (yet I do, because it's the right thing to do as I've tried everything else and no other method works).

But I can't figure out why I am the only one that gets the crying. Any ideas?

Because you The Mama. Grin

He thinks you're more of a pushover....

Just let DH do it and take the opportunity to go out Smile

Ha ha ha! TheHouse has nailed it! You The Mama!

Yep my DD is the same.

She usually sleeps well but on the occasions where she doesn't I have to rock, shush, sing, pat, sit in the chair and hold her hand through the cot bars for half an hour whereas DH can go in, put dummy back in and bob's your uncle!

My youngest was the same, I just couldn't put him to bed at all, he would be screaming crying with the most pitiful sobs ever but if DH put him up to bed he was fine Confused. He's okay now that he's in his big bed though.

Haha, funny, I was asking DH to do it before reading that suggestion! He's getting fed up now though Hmm

Glad others have endured it too. Shames there's not much I can do about it if it's due to the fact that I'm the mama! Shock

Interesting about the big bed though. Might give that one a go.
