I only ask cos ds (6 months) seems to be around the tv alot when dd (4) has it on. DD doesnt watch a great deal of tv and she is excellent at imaginaitive play etc but im just worried about ds being around it when it is on?

What do you think?

Neither of my older ones showed any interest in TV until they were at lest 6m old, and even then it was only fleeting. Until they were at least 2y old they rarely watched for longer than 20m, not because I policed it but becsause they lost interest after 20m.

I don't think it does any harm having the baby around while the older one watches a bit of TV. What does harm is having the TV on constantly, whether or not you think they are watching.
