I don't and don't really like it when other children jump on mine. If they want to get rid of some energy whats wrong with the garden?

Sometimes, depends on my mood.

They know they can't jump on Grandmas sofa, but that they can jump all over grandads sofa though.

My DD sometimes does and I tell her not to. Apart of the sofa, I am worried that she will get hurt.

Wow. This thread has been reincarnated! My DS was about a week old when it was started - no in fact he wasn't born! Now he does occasionally jump on the sofa, and I make clear that he is not allowed to! Am more concerned about the sofa than him.

I do have a friend who lets her dcs jump here there and everywhere - they have no respect for other peoples property and it drives my dh mad. HELP how do i ask her to control them??

Its easy. 'My house, my rules'. Just tell her children that no-one is allowed to jump on the furniture in your house.

I did used to let DD jump on the sofas (she's too big now) - and make cushion mountains/dens - but impressed upon her that was our rules and that she must not do so in anyone else's house unless expressly permitted.

Our sofas are >26 years old with solid hardwood frames - not DFS/ikea shite. The covers have been steam cleaned a few times and seat covers washed in the machine many times- they're still all in good nick. They were a wedding present from FIL - I suppose quite expensive at the time but good value in the long run.
