14 week old doesn't like being held or cuddled anymore

My DS used to be a cuddly baby but in the past fortnight he hates being held or cuddled. He cries and squirms or "stands'. It makes him very hard to comfort him.

He's a very active baby and likes being carried but won't even fall asleep on me anymore. He's acting normally except quite whiny.

Is this a phase? Sad I miss my cuddly boy.

They go through phases. My DD is not a cuddly type at all. No co-sleeping, no falling asleep on me and for a long time was a daddy's girl.

Now at 3.5 she likes a cuddle but it must be on her terms and only when she feels like it.

At 14 weeks my little girl was fully aware that the world around was very interesting and only wanted to be held looking out! Now at 13 months she's extremely cuddly, loves to give hugs and big sloppy kisses.

Baby wrestling we call it. My 2 started a bit later, maybe around the 16 week mark, and never really stopped. I get brief cuddles, they are both affectionate and loving, but there is too much to discover about the world and themselves to waste time cuddling in, nevermind getting so comfy they may fall asleep and miss something.
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear

My 6 month old is at that stage now, she hates being cuddled, but always wants to be picked up. Its clinginess on there terms, its all about exploring for the babies, they have so much to learn, but they still need there mummies and daddies :)

My DS was like this from birth. He was known by everyone as the 'put-me-the-f@#&-down' baby. He hated being picked up when he was tired, we never even considered co-sleeping and a sling would have been impossible. Now, at 4.5 years old, he is cuddlier.
