Sleep troubles!? - please help!!

So I have my self a beautiful 11 day old baby girl that is perfect in every way, she's my first.. Now we have a slight problem in the sense that she really doesn't like her Moses basket and She will not sleep anywhere than on my chest! I don't know what to do as I know I shouldn't give in to her every time she wants a cuddle as if I'm honest I really like it too. She was taken from me at birth and I wasn't able to hold her for 4 days! And I think this may have something to do with it
Any tips on what I should do apart from the obvious and not give in! Any suggestions are appreciated!! X

Congratulations on your little one!

To be honest I would just cuddle her all you like! She'll only be this tiny once and all she knows is you and your body...

Have you heard of '4th trimester theory'? that basically the first 3 months after birth are a period of adjustment for the baby and this can be helped by keeping her with you at all times, swaddling, white noise, carrying in a sling etc to recreate life in the womb..

Oh I see it's just I don't want to get in the routine of her wanting to sleep in my bed etc which I must say I'm Guilty it has happened whilst I've been cuddling her I drift of too! And I wake up in a panic thinking the worst! She just loves a cuddle but it's good to know its perfectly normal for her to be that way.
It's odd she will be peaceful as anything in my arms the second her back touches the mattress in her basket she freaks out into a major meltdown.. Well as major as any newborn can get!!

Yeah mine were the same...

Would only sleep on me or my partner, never in Moses basket etc. I think it is that they sense they're not close to you and they are frightened as they're so helpless at first and their instinct is to be with their mum

Oops posted too soon... Their instinct is to be with you at all times, it does gradually get less and around 6 weeks mine were happier about being put down but still slept in our bed..

Just enjoy the cuddles and adapting to life with your baby x
