I am just curious, DS 19mths loves his little bike which he pushes along with his feet flat on the floor. He can now reach the peddles is he too young to teach??

ds was 20 months. He shocked us all by climbing onto a neighbours bike, and just riding off on it, with no instruction at all - just copying what he'd seen the older kids do.

dd is 21 months and hashad her trike since 17 months and still refuses to pedal!

Trike or bike do you mean?
Neither of mine could pedal a trike (dd was too tall anyway)...but both could pedal a bike as soon as they sat on it at 3.
ds learnt to ride his bike without stabilisers at 5...dd is 3 and got her bike on her 3rd birthday. She still has stabalisers...but i think she'll probably be ok without them next summer.

Mine were really old, and were both nearly 4 when they did it. Neither of them could ever pedal a trike. But I don't think they're good indicators. DH only learned to ride a bike at university and don't think they have inherited the 'pedalling' gene!
