Cotbed duvet - daft question

I am really curious to know those of you who use a toddler duvet in your LO's cotbed, is the duvet loads bigger than the mattress?

We have just purchased a toddler duvet for our DD. She has a cotbed. But the duvet seems huge?! And until we take the side panel off her cotbed it just doesn't look right as is all bunched up!!!

Am I being stoopid and missing something?

That sounds about right... Until we took the side off it helped to tuck some of it under the mattress.

We turn ours sideways and tuck it under both sides of the mattress. Fits exactly.

Rotate duvet 90 degrees and tuck half of it underneath the mattress. Will help keep them contained in bed as well :)
