Dd 15.5 months no walking

Dd2 was late to crawl, stand and is now still not walking. She can pull herself to stand,and will walk a few very wobbly and tentative steps holding hands or occasionally with a walker (although is much more wobbly with walker). I'm just beggining to worry as all other little ones her age and younger seem to be walking and many walking quite confidently. Everyone keeps saying "oh Is she not walking yet" or " she really should be walking by now" which Is making me feel worse. The other thing is that her feet don't seem to be completely flat when attempting to walk.

Just wanted to get some advise I guess. Is this still in realms of 'normal' or should I be worried?

My dd1 didn't walk until 17 months and my niece was 23 months. Both are absolutely fine. They are all different.

My daughter was also a late walker 18 months! Try not to worry..:/

I don't think you should worry at all . Gps don't refer kids who can't walk yet until 18 months and even at that there still might be nothing wrong.

Sounds like she's walking a wee bit and maybe just needs to build her confidence a bit? Those are insensitive comments that have been made to you .

Obviously if you are worried you could take her to the gp for peace of mind but she could just be taking her own sweet time.

All three of mine not until 16 months at least.

Worried about it with first, then not so much! Niece and nephews the same (late walking family I guess!).

Mind weren't 'on time' or early for anything as babies; now they're all top sets and doing well at school. I wish I'd believed people who told me not to fret so much about milestones as I wasted years comparing them to other kids (although you need to act when there's genuine concern-I referred myself via the hv to a SALT for my eldest as he wasn't talking and I just knew there was an issue. Needed grommets, which solved the problem).

If you're worried see a professional who will check she is physically capable.

Ds didn't walk till 17 months and my dd who is 15 mths is only now beginning to walk but still quite unsteady. I think some are walkers and some are talkers, mine are both talkers! And try to ignore unhelpful comments and comparisons. She'll get there at her own pace!

My DD was sooooo lazy and didn't walk until 17mo!

Even then, any opportunity for a sit down or a carry was taken

Mine was 20 months and they still hadn't begin to refer her. I was told, anywhere between 9 and 18 months is normal and she was doing pre-walking stuff but, as a bum-shuffler who would smile at little boys to get them to bring her bits, she had no incentive to move.

My DGS2 didn't walk until 22 months. I know it's hard, but try not to worry.

Just started toddling alone here and only indoors at the moment. She will walk outside only if you hold her hand. Shes 16.5months and was 'on time' for everything else. I was over a year old when walking - my brother was 10 months old so it's not like it completely runs in the family either.

I did hear though that the later they walked the more steady and confidant they would be when they did.

My daughter was late with everything. Crawled at 13 months, finally walked just after 18 months and now at 21 months she is running around very confidently. Easier said than done I know but try not to worry, she will do it in her own time x

My eldest dd didn't walk until age 2 and 4 days. She has v flexible ankles (hypermobile) but is fine and no probs with any activity now she is 4. dd2 walked at 12 months. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Definitely normal. My dd is currently 17.5 months and will only take about 3 steps holding on to my hands. She only just did it for the first time last week! I've heard a few stories from people reassuring them about their late walkers as I was worried too. It's just irritating as it would be nice for her to run about in the garden when the weather is nice, and she's bloody heavy to carry round

My niece was 2 for walking and never crawled. Is now 10 and normal.
