extreme reaction to tv show?

Hi my little girl has just turned 2 and loves the cartoon Bing. Today it was on and she'd seen the episode before and he steps in dog poo and then loses his toy. She knew what was going to happen and started to cry saying she didn't like it. I could feel her little heart going fast and she was shaking. I let her watch it to tell her everything turns out OK and she calmed down. Is this normal?

My dd went through same stage age around 3. If it was episode of something she'd seen before and she knew something bad was coming even if she also knew it had a happy ending, she'd get upset and make us turn it off. Doesn't happen so much now (4.5) but still doesn't like peril.

It's strange how little minds think and that we sometimes can't understand. My DS2 (4) doesn't watch much but a couple of months ago I let him watch an episode of In the Night Garden on iplayer while I was busy in the kitchen. After about 10 minutes he came through obviously upset and didn't want to watch any more of it. I never did work out what upset him but he won't watch it again :( He has watched other things that I thought might frighten him a bit (Paddington at the end) but he loved that.

Even as an adult I dislike scenes in sitcoms etc (eg murder she wrote) when they're riffling through someone's office and you know they are about to get caught.

Tv is so real to children, it makes sense to me.
