My ds is only 14 mos, so I haven't had to go through this yet. Not looking forward to it, I'll tell you! However, in a fit of optimism, I bought Gina Ford's Potty Training in One Week. I've read it and it seems like a good book. (I'm a big fan of the CLBB) You might give it a try. Good luck!

this is still going on. but is only a little bit of poo if that makes sense.
yesterday morning he told me he needed a poo-pants were clean so he got loads of praise (and a bit of chocolate) then about 10 mins later he did a bit more in his pants. ffs. this morning before id even got up he shouts 'i need a poo' so i said good boy for telling me etc but again was little bit(like 1 inch-sorry!) in his pants, he then said he didnt need anymore. asked him to stay on toilet for a while but didnt do anything.

am so bl**dy frustrated.

Sounds as though he is constipated. It may be that he has passed a hard poo that is painful and he doesn't want to repeat it. He may need some lactulose to get him going again if extra drinks and fruit doesn't help. Have you checked his bottom to see if he has a fissure (small tear in the skin of the anus).
