Taking nappies off in bed

Hi, I'm new to the site and I'm looking for some help. My DD is 22 months old and for the last 6 months or more she has been taking her nappy off in bed. I didn't mind at first because it was usally just before I got up that she did it but over the last few months she's started taking it off earlier and earlier and waking up to her and a messy bed isn't fun anymore, especially when its not just pee. Wondering if any of you have had the same problem and what solution you found to this? I started buying pull ups for night time and nappies for day time but expense wise, I can't afford it every week.

I would read it as an opportunity to potty train. Is that possible?

For the bed I had a waterproof sheet with toweling fabrics on top, and waterproof layer at the bottom. I have two kids so it lasted us a fair bit and was a great investment into my sanity Also used Bright Bots Training Pants for the transitional not-quite-potty-trained period (often at night, if not too hot).

We put the nappy on back to front! Also kept the vest poppered up and broke the habit! Good luck

Ive tried vests and sleepsuits with poppers but she just keeps pullin them open, onesie with zipper was gion to b my next port of call...that or puttin buttons on her pyjama bottoms and holes on the tops and just buttonin them together...I am goin to start potty trainin slowly but as shes not walkin yet apparantly i cant introduce it to her fully until she does according to my health visitor, but ive had a few people tell me that i can start potty trainin her now even though shes not walkin yet

What HowMany said, try putting the nappy on backwards at night so the tabs are on her back!

yeah were gonna try that startin tonight and fingers crossed it works...im losin my mind over this lol and runnin out of options too, but will try revers nappy first before i look at other stuff

Vertbaudet sell onesies that popper on the back. My DD is much younger but has also figured out how to undo the nappy tabs (although thankfully not the sleepsuit yet), but she hasn't worked out how to undo the fairly stiff poppers on her cloth nappies so they might be worth a go? A bit expensive, especially this close to potty training, but you wouldn't need many if it was just for night-time. Plus if you get a good brand they have excellent resale value

Stick a bit of gaffer tape over the tabs on the nappy?

is she in a sleeping bag? we used a nappy pin to secure the zip so dd couldn't get to her nappy,

We put DS in his sleeping bag back to front so he can't get out. would this work?

As a long term user of terries, my one and only foray in to the use of sposies was brought to a very quick end for precisely the same reason - in addition to frequent leaks. Hardly ever had night time leaks with a well fitted boosted terry - and nappy pins always ensured it was still where it should be in the morning!

Solved my nappy problem, thank god, bought a set of scratch sleevs to put underneath hey pyjama top, does the job perfectly and no more messy beds to clean up...very happy now :D
