Struggling

What a day. To my shame, I shouted at DD1 today. I am really struggling at the moment.

I have tonsillitis. DD2, 9 months, is teething and going through a stage of separation anxiety.

DD1, 2.8 years, slept 15 hours in the last 24. Lovely. But, of the hours she was awake, she tantrummed for 6. Over an hour about wanting a CD on in the car that was at home.

I just feel broken and shattered.

I try to stick to a routine, I give lots of warning if change is coming, I offer choices, I offer help, I'm out of ideas!

Over an hour of her screaming, I want A Squash and Squeeze CD. Over Andover again. Slamming her hand on the car window beside her. Then, when I got her out the car, rolling on the floor screaming it over and over. I want A Squash and a Squeeze CD.

I'm 60 minutes into feeding DD2 to sleep, still not asleep. DD1 is shouting mummy, mummy, mummy.

Go to sleep!!!!!

No useful advice, but gosh you sound wrung out. Cup of tea and a sit down - leave them to it for ten minutes. You poor thing. Thanks

Thanks, Humpty. Both asleep now. I can have more painkillers at 9pm.

I know what the problem is. DD1 wants me all to herself. We had our first sibling incident 3 weeks ago and it's escalated from there.

I just don't know how to give dD1 more time.

Oh that is hard, there's only so much you can do, and less when you're ill. I only have one, so I have no idea on sibling stuff, but give yourself a break - I shout at DD daily, and she has me all to herself!
Maybe you can console yourself that you're starting early on teaching her to share? Grin

Do you have ABs for the tonsillitis? I get it every other Christmas, like clockwork, and it makes me want to take a pair of pliers to the little fuckers.
Hope you feel better after the next painkillers. Thanks

stargirl1701 · 16/05/2015 20:53

Indeed! GrinGrinGrin

No ABs as it's viral this time. I'm glad as I really don't want any more ABs. I had 4 different ones after I gave birth in Aug. Just painkillers. I tend to get it when I'm run down.

I'll go to bed after I've taken them. DH home late tonight. He's been at work since 7.30am and is on a corporate dinner tonight.

Church tomorrow and PILs arriving for lunch.

Thanks for responding Thanks

How are you feeling now? Forgot to check yesterday - hectic day! Hope you're on the mend. Thanks

stargirl1701 · 18/05/2015 16:51

Feeling better, thank you. DH insisted I get a lie in on Sunday rather than go to church. MIL did shed loads of laundry while she was here. DH and I went to see a film on Sunday evening - dreadful film but good to get out. We need more nights out!

Oh yay! And well done your DH.

Fantastic news StarGirl, ur hubby & MIL really helped I think! Was gonna post you need break & rest, but has happened, so fab. Keep being kind to self & do lots hot drinks to help wiv virus & prevent more ABs. My little one is only 5 weeks, so I can't give advice really, but can relate as I lost blood during delivery due to placenta issues so was on ABs & iron tabs in beginning (now just iron tabs), am 38 & have thyroid condition, so can get tired / run down. Little boy is poppet tho, but occasionally ask hubby for bit time out to rest.?
