Bottom wiping

Daughter is aged six. Refuses to wipe her bottom properly - she can do it as she has been shown numerous times and she will do it if someone is standing over her. If asked if she has wiped her bottom, she will lie and say she has when she obviously hasn't. What to do?

She's an articulate child but she often refuses to do what she is asked politely (because she can).

Any tips?

We have exactly the same problem with our 7 year old. Sooo frustrating!! We have had some success with a reward chart for a clean bottom/pants but as soon as the reward chart is filled we revert back to the original behaviour and can't seem to change his behaviour long term.
Sorry not much help but just wanted to let you know you're not alone with this problem!

We have this too, our boy is 6 soon, but just wasn't bothering to even try!!! As far as i could tell...so i cracked this week and said he could have a malteser every time he cleaned himself, up to about 5 or 6 now, after a few days.
there has been a huge improvement already- i just wanted to try to break the old habit of not bothering at all, so i hope it continues.
