Moaning

My child is 19 months. She's always been happy but for past couple of months (I think at least it feels like that there might have been odd times where it's been a bit better) she's now so moany she moans when she can't do something when she can't go somewhere when I'm not paying her attention when I'm not doing what she wants and other things and I know toddlers might moan when they don't get their own way but it feels like she's moaning a lot now. Is this normal? Is it a phase or what? I feel like I've got a different child! I did take her to doctors 2 weeks ago but she was fine. She did say I could take her back in a week if I'm still worried but I'm not sure it's physical now. It's not very fun!

My ds is 17 months and I have to admit he's very moany at the minute. Today we've had moaning because I peeled his banana, wouldn't let him onto the building site, wouldn't read That's not my tractor (for the 28th time), wouldn't let him have all of the copies of The Guardian in the Co op (at least it was The Guardian!), I put tomatoes on his plate.....I could go on. I reckon it's either their age or their teeth so either he'll grow out of it or he'll get the bloody molars through. You're right though, it's tiresome but not something to be very worried about.

My ds is very moany and has been for a few months. He's just just starting to be able to be reasoned with at 21 mo. I think it's getting easier as his speech comes in.

I have a real moaner and my little boy is 2 now! Some weeks are better than others but at the moment a bit like what you described it is about everything...and we have the ultimate tantrums and screams to go with it!!I feel your pain.

Thank you everyone good to hear from other people with it!

sunflower I have thought maybe it will get easier when she can tell us what she wants and understands more - well, hope!
