My 14 month old has not moved on from stage 2 food. He will only eat a small variety of savoury meals, he likes smooth yoghurt and puddings. He will not under any circumstances accept anything hard like toast, crisps, crackers, cheese, biscuits or chocolate. He seems to have a fear that we will try to force food on him and is often reluctant to eat until he has tasted the food and realises that it is one of his accepted choices.
We have had a referral to a feeding clinic and the consultant paediatrician said she was not happy with the range of movement of his tongue and there was a possibility of tongue tie. We have to return to see Speech and Language next week to see what they think.
He is very interested in food, loves watching it be prepared and watching others eat, but is afraid to try any himself.
Anyone have experience of this, or even tongue tie correction? Any thoughts on what I can expect?
