...an outdoor safety stair gate?

Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this but in desperate need of something to block off a wide set of decking stairs.

We live in a bungalow and there are some steep stairs down to the garden. Our DD is at an age this year where she will now really be able to enjoy our garden but the stairs are a real worry. A normal stair gate wouldn't even come close.

Any suggestions people?

You might have to buy a garden gate or length of fencing and cobble something together?

We had something similar.

Make, buy, or get an ordinary simple garden gate made, and have the bolt/latch/fastenings out of reach on the far side of the gate. (Or if really necessary, on both sides!!)

Try searching for dog safety gates/barriers. They tend to come in bigger sizes than baby gates

How wide is the space you need to block?

We used one of these inside to section off half a room.

Not sure how it would last outside, it's made of painted metal and plastic like other stair gates. You can use as many of the sections as you need plus the gated one.

Although outside dp built a temporary wooden fence and gate across the steeper parts of the garden.
