Please can anyone help. My 14 week old daughter screams every time she is in the car. Any journey long or short she screams the whole time. Music, silence, holding her hand, we have tried everything. Please can anyone else suggest anyrhing

No real advice but my second DC did this too. It was awful. By the time we'd dropped her older brother at preschool, all 3 of us would be in tears. I never solved the issue but she did grow out of it Flowers

Oh I so feel for you. That was me a few weeks ago.

What worked was a dummy. I really had to persuade her to take it. Before we got in the car I would spend 15 or so mins rocking her in the kitchen in her car seat under the extraction fan while lightly holding in dummy. When she fell asleep I'd transfer to car. It was hideous. But the dummy really really helped. I had to do 4 short car journeys a day and would have gone quite mad with the screaming otherwise.

One other thing is make sure she's really well winded before going in car seat. Sometimes the seats kind of squish them I think and it's painful if they need to burp.

It sounds like the car seat gives her a touch of reflux, it does with a lot of little ones, hence a dummy would help, as will really winding her before she goes in.

No tips but my DS(7months) was exactly the same, any long journey resulted in LOADS of stops. All of a sudden about 6 weeks ago he seemed to accept the car and stopped the screaming, I think he has just grown out of it. You have my sympathies though
