rolling over

DS2 is 6 months and has been rolling from his back to his front for 5 or 6 weeks now. But he can't roll back again; I think he tries to, his arms and legs flail and he arches his body, but he gets nowhere, bless him! Should be be able to roll from tummy to back now and if not now, how soon?
He gets very frustrated about it - and if he is on his tummy for more than a minute or two, flailing about, he's generally a bit sick, so I feel a bit frustrated too

Lisa78, my ds2 is over a year and is still cr** at rolling over, but I know the rest of his peers could do it around the age you mention. It will come, the worst part is the fustration.

E only did it a few weeks ago Lisa, and even now barely does it, he sounds normal

my ds is 8 months and still can't roll over.My older ds couldn't do it either so I'm not really worried.I think it's because they are BIG boys!! Harder for them to get the momentum going!!

My dd 7 1/2 months can only roll over front to back and just can't see the point of rolling onto her tummy.

My dd was crawling for months and practically walking before she could roll over either way. Don't worry about it for a minute longer. It is one of those silly things that hv's go on and on about and it is only meaningful if they aren't doing any other kind of movement either.

All children do things at their own pace - don't worry about 'should be able to.....' or you will be putting yourself through the wringer about sitting up, walking etc etc etc - they can all do these things by the time they go to school!
