DD asking to go to bed without a nappy

She is 3.3 and has been dry in the daytime for coming up a year. She has a heavy pull up on waking. She is asking to go to bed without a nappy but Ive said no until her nappy is dry when she wakes up, and said she is still doing wees in her sleep.

Is this the right thing to do?

I believe so. Night time dryness is controlled by a hormone, they can't be trained in the same way. So unless she has dry nappies, she won't be dry without them.
My DS is 5 and still in a pull-up. He's desperate to be dry and not wear it, but you just have to wait till it happens

IHeartKingThistle · 14/04/2015 23:53

Interesting - I didn't know that about the hormone.

My experience with DD was that at a similar age she refused to wear a nappy for bed, wet the bed for a few days and then was dry. So based on that I'd let your DD try at least. Protect the bed though maybe!

Do you think it would be worth putting a pair of knicks under her pull up so she feels wet?

KingThistle did you put a potty in her room incase she needed a wee?

My dad was similar, one night she asked for no nappy, with my heart in my mouth I went for it, potty in her room, and that was her-she's still dry 15 years later Grin

My dd decided that she didn't wear nappies any more, ditched daytime ones (took them off and hid them) one week and night time ones (stripped, threw nappy, put pjs back on) the next. She was 21mo and didn't ever wet the bed. we had to buy her a toddler bed pronto as she couldn't get out of the cot to go to the toilet, obvs, the pest Grin fwiw she's now 9 but it's probably still well documented on the archives of mn Grin
Ds2 however was still in night time pull ups at 7yo, despite desperately wanting to be dry, just wasn't able.
