3.5 yo DS keeping 7.5 yo DD awake

This is the 2nd night this week. He's not sleeping during the day which is a new development, then he crashes out at around 6, then either wakes straight up if I move him, or if he's already in bed, about an hour later, then when DD goes in he won't stop talking. Last night it was after 9 before they went to sleep, DD was practically sleepwalking today.

Any solutions please?

Bump. He's still awake, thankfully he quietened down enough for DD to fall asleep.

Bump. I really don't want another night of this.

Mine is similar. If he has even a tiny nap during the day, he will stay awake chatting to himself for an hour or so after we put him down. But if he doesn't nap, he's not quite able to make it through the whole day without being exhausted and miserable etc.
Perhaps you could try to implement a 'quiet time' (early enough in the day so that he doesn't fall asleep) so that he can rest and recharge a little bit, and make it to the end of the day.

Thanks, I'll try that. Flowers

Keep him awake after 3pm whatever it takes. LongDivision's advise on quiet time earlier is good, he might even fall asleep during that.

Well, I started giving him quiet time yesterday then I got a call back from Hamleys re his dad's birthday present, so we were out until 4, I then had to go food shopping, this seemed to reset his body clock, he went straight to sleep when I put him down at 6.45 and stayed asleep! This meant that his DSis was asleep by 8.30. We're not straying far today, so it'll be interesting to see what happens. Thanks all. Flowers
