Worst smelling gas. EVER.

My DD has the worst smelling gas ever...and she's only 5.5mo old!!

We're currently going into day 5 with no poo, she strains quite frequently but just passes wind.

She's ebf and not yet weaned.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

No advice. But DS is the same. Smells like off eggs! He's ebf too

Mine had this - she's intolerant to dairy and soy (ie via breast milk). Not saying it's the cause here but worth considering if it could be a reaction to something in your diet. Mine had terrible wind and didn't poo for days (know this can be normal for EBF babies too) but she poos every day with no dairy / soy

I tried a no dairy diet a couple months back (for her fussiness more than anything) for 6 weeks. I saw a paediatrician for an unrelated issue and mentioned it to him, he basically told me it's unlikely to make much difference to her.

Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I think it's her a lot worse since eating dairy again (I LOVE cheese). Her temperament is fine though, in face she's quite a happy wee thing compared to the devil child j had for the first 3 months!

Maybe I will try cutting out diary again. We are only a couple weeks away from weaning, so I'll need to be careful when we do that too.

My gp was v dismissive of it too (not sure why we are so concerned re eating dairy in this country!!) but for us soy is a bigger issue - plus it's in so many things

The paediatrician was talking pish. I was told the only thing that could solve dd's reflux was going totally Df and sf, and my paediatrician was spot on.

I'm dairy free again starting today so we'll see how it goes! X
