Hi, I'm weaning at the moment. Mixed 3 spoonfuls if baby rice in with formula at 545 pm as thought it will be good for him to get used to the taste as eventually I would like to stop BF. DS is 24 wks and has been EBF.
However tonight he has screamed the place down. Been sick 3 times ( not loads) arching his back and can't be settled. Lots of wind.
Do you think it could be the small amount of formula?

What kind of formula did you give? C&G made DD projectile vomit! She was ok with Aptimil though. I wouldn't bother with the baby rice personally. I'd try a different type of formula.

It was Aptimel pre made in a bottle. It was such a small amount. He's had rice before and really likes it, so it's not that.

I would try different types of formula and see if he still reacts.

Could equally be the baby rice, perhaps try some fruit or veg if you're doing purees.

It sounds like a cows' milk allergy to me. We had exactly this experience with our DD when we tried to wean with Baby rice at 6 months. Turned out that she was allergic to both dairy and soy.

I gave my dd a few sips of formula from a cup and it caused terrible constipation, could he be feeling constipated if so I really recommend prunes

I also suspect cows milk protein allergy. Please see your gp x
