really struggling to get my nearly 3 year old to go on the potty - fine with the weeing just the other. Insists on doing it in his nappy. I have tried all sorts - not pressurising him but any advice?

have you tried a reward chart 1 star for a wee and a massive 5 stars for a poo, worked with ds, when he got to 20 he was able to go to the shop and pick himself something out for about £2 it did the trick for me, good luck.

oh and totally over the top excitment when he does actually do something in there.

How about putting a sticker on the potty every time he does something in there? That worked a treat with ds .... Good luck!

No nappy. Course, that is the messy option....
