Bogey-eating demon!

Ok, so the 'demon' part may have been a tad harsh, but I'm not far off!
DS2 has just turned 3 and is, well, basically a little sh*t!
He goes out of his way to get told off. Yes, I know it's an attention thing(5month old baby in tow who DS3 has tried to hit a couple of times!). I'm trying my hardest to give praise inbetween the naughty bits, but the gaps are pretty narrow so it's quite difficult!
The nose-picking and bogey-eating(whilst announcing loudly mummy I picked my nose and eat my bogey!) is a little embarrassing while out in public!
Any tips on curbing this behaviour, as I'm about to swap him on gumtree for an ironing board!!

Have you tried ignoring the 'bad/naughty' behaviour and only rewarding the good? Naturally if he's doing something that's harmful 2 himself or others then of course you'll have to tell him so but my point is that even telling him off is still attention! Good luck x

Yes. I have. I ignore it at home as much as possible. Mainly because he seems to have become desensitised to 'time-out'! It's hard to ignore when out in public tho. DS1 was always so well behaved. His dad and I split when he was 2, so pretty much brought him up by myself...
DS2 and 3 have daddy at home and daddy's parenting 'skills' differ alot from mine! So I'm doing/saying one thing and daddy is doing/saying the opposite!!
Agh!!!

That in itself won't help matters although I whole heartedly appreciaite how difficult IT is when you have different parenting techniques/ideas to your DH. I'm in the same boat there!

Have you tried taking away privileges? And rewarding good behaviour? It will pass but I realuse the here and now feels a long time!
