5 month old poo!

My 5 month DD usually goes to toilet 1-3 times a day - she's ebf and her nappies are the standard colour/consistency.

This last week it's all changed. She went three days without a poo, and when she did it wasn't as spectacular as I had anticipated - although a lot darker and very smelly!! We are now on day 4 since then and still nothing else.

I know bf babies can go a while without pooing, but it's a very sudden change. Also, she is SO gassy and her farts are really honking. She wakes up in the night farting and just seems generally uncomfortable - likes she's trying to poo.

Any suggestions?

Have you started any solids OP?

No, no solids yet.

I gave her some water yesterday morning and her bowels finally moved - very smelly and voluminous!

She was so much happier afterwards, and slept so much better last night.

This morning she's back to being quite gassy again though, and straining as if to go to loo.

Is she just trying to poo or is she showing signs of pain?
