How to help dd (2.7) with panic

My dd (2.7) seemingly has panic Attacks. That's how it looks to me anyway.
Example: this morning she took off her dressing gown and dumped it in a corner so I tidied it up back to her bedroom to its hook. Over 30 mins later she noticed and it went like this 'where's my dressing gown? Mummy? My dressing gown! Where is it gone!! MUMMY ITS TOO COLD IN THE LIVING ROOM FOR ME!! MUMMY I NEED IT I NEED IT MUMMY!!!!'
And proceeded to burst into uncontrollable sobs. The above happened in about 5-10 seconds and she was shaking and crying. I managed to calm her down - took a good few mins and got her breathing back to normal. But it concerns me. Still had to go show her the dressing gown to reassure her it was there.

Has she responded like this before in similar situations or is this a one off?

If it is a one off I might assume she was coming down with something. Both of my DDs have had a tendency to overreact to odd things when they're under the weather.

It's becoming more regular. Always over rather innocuous things, like the dressing gown.

I don't want to change her emotions, I just want to teach her to control the panic element. It happens so fast and then she can be a wreck for a while afterwards. And incredibly clingy.

It's quite hard to watch Sad
