I am a first time mom of a 2 year old and my son wont seem to go without drinking his cup at nigh. And he will only drink milk or juice every time I try and give him water he wont take it just gives me his cup back. Last night he cried so loud from 2am-am non-stop. I am worried he may not take to this new way and I am not sure how to go about it should I continue to allow him to cry like that or just give him his cup when he wants it.

Tough it out. You just can't let him have juice or milk in the night. His teeth will suffer.
I know it's not easy but I don't see how you can give in on this one.
Comfort him by all means but stick to your guns.

Slowly water down the juice (or milk), so over a couple of weaks you are adding more and more water to less juice, eventually it will just be water.

I agree, this will be v bad for his teeth. You will have to tough it out for his sake in the long run. Comfort him as much as you can but don't give him anything other than water.

At this age I left a zippy cup of water in their cot so that they could have a drink and go back to sleep. Try this and if it doesn't work you need to tough it out.
