Dd age 8 has suddenly started wetting the bed.

My dd has never wet the bed until the start of this month when I was away for work and she wet the bed. It happened again last weekend when I was staying with a friend and dh and I thought it was maybe because she was slightly anxious about me not being there as I am rarely away overnight. However it happened again on Wed and yet again this morning. It is so unlike her and I wonder if this is common and how long it will last. She sleeps in a double bed so it's a pain getting everything washed and dried. Luckily I bought a waterproof mattress protector before Christmas (didn't realise till I got home that it was waterproof but it has been a godsend.) It always happens first thing in the morning before she is getting up. Be grateful for any advice or experience anyone can share.

Check if she has worms, they can cause bedwetting, if she hasn't, I'd make an appointment to see the doctor for a UTI check.

based on when it started and the circs I would say it's anxiety.

Don't think it is worms as she is not itching but will have a check. Maybe she was originally anxious because I was away and now she is anxious about wetting the bed? She had the bed stripped this morning and was changed before she came in to tell us. We have reassured her that it's not her fault and tried to find out if there is anything bothering her but she says not.

It could be anxiety but don't discount abuse. That was the only 'sign' I ever exhibited as a child...
