Aargh molar teeth

I was just wondering if anyone could advise me on how long it took for molars to erupt for their dcs? My dd is 11.5mo and had 8 teeth by 8mo. I'm sure she's teething again as we've had on and off loose nappies for a couple of weeks. She started dribbling lots at the weekend and has been really unsettled at night since the weekend. We've also got a runny nose and nighttime cough.

But I can't see or feel any teeth! How long do these molars take to erupt??

If you can't feel anything, are you sure it's teething that's troubling her? Just a thought. Smile

I think so as she always has these symptons when teething. I've been checking her temp too.

Unsure as to what else it could be.

Honestly it varies a lot from child to child. My DD took forever to get her first molars, it was stop start for months (and same for the second lot of molars too). Almost like getting 16 teeth instead of 4. But her cousin got all four first molars within a few weeks.

Thanks minipie. I feel like this has been ongoing now for weeks and can't see anything cutting soon. Wondering if we're going to get more than one cutting at the same time.

I've got the big guns out for night- anbesol and calpol or nurofen but she's still grizzly all night long. Think the sheer volume of saliva and her runny nose isn't helping as she's coughing lots but I have no idea what else to do!

Any suggestions would be welcomed- I hate teething!

Dd got her first molars at 13 months and her second lot between 2 and 2.5. They took a couple of weeks both times Smile

My DS sounds similar to your DD, 8 teeth by 8 months and from about 10 months had teething symptoms and very swollen gums where the molars were. All 4 have come through in the last 2 weeks- he's 13.5 months, but it was on and off symptoms for months.

Shock oh god so we've still got another 6-8 weeks to go then?!

I have no idea when else to do as she really struggles with teething and I hate dosing her up with stuff! But I do know how painful teeth are as I struggled with my wisdom teeth for years as an adult.
