stopped rolling...

just that. my just about 7 mo old DS has stopped rolling for the last 6 weeks maybe? he's sitting well on his own for what seem to me to be decent stretches (can lean forward to grab a toy and right himself without falling over).

is this concerning? I initially thought he was just working on other skills and the rolling would come back but it just hasn't. today he tried to roll from back to stomach and couldn't seem to and got very upset.

No advice but just wanted to say you are not alone as my DD 8 months is exactly the same!
At 6 months she could roll both ways and did so frequently but on the last few weeks she's hardly done it at all.
I casually mentioned it to Health visitor and helpers at playgroup and they said ass very happy sitting up etc maybe she just prefers that at the moment. She has the skill to roll if she wants to but Is doing other things at the moment and will "come back to it" soon when she's ready!

Sorry for typo's!!

Mine did this - did it a handful of times around five months to prove she could and then didn't again until about 10 months, long after she'd started crawling. I asked various HVs and they all said that as long as she was sitting and weight bearing (which she was) then they weren't at all worried.

My DS rolled about 3 times at 4/5 months then didn't do it again till 10 months!

I wouldn't worry, they'll all develop in their own time, my DS is 7 and half months and will roll back and fore but cannot sit up on his own yet x

Don't worry my DD has done this with a few things including walking.
In fact a few months ago she seemed to forget how to roll and used to just lie on her back and cry - she's 15 months!! It was weird but passed in a week or two.
Babies are funny things!
