DSis 9 months, starting to pull up and cruise. We have wooden floors and I feel it's a bit cold for bare feet, too slippy in just socks. I know he doesn't need shoes yet. Can anyone recommend something reasonably priced and non slip that will actually stay on his feet?

Honestly, unless your whole house is freezing, barefoot is best. Anything on his feet will hinder his proprioception.

We use soft leather shoes for our DD mini feet do some nice ones and not very expensive. They stay on well too unlike the non slip socks.

Dotty Fish shoes were great for us on laminate on cold mornings and for out and about.

They are soft leather with suede soles so won't hinder growth and the elasticated ankle meant that my foot Houdini couldn't remove them or her socks :o

I use Grippa Socks for DS, he tends to rush about everywhere at full tilt so they keep his feet warm and stop him skidding everywhere in his socks.

we used starchild shoes. soft leather and suede and she cant get them off to get at her socks!! Grin

Soft slipper-sock type things like this if really too cold for barefoot. H&M do them too.

AnythingNotEverything · 11/03/2015 15:43

Honestly - he's most likely fine barefoot. My daughter has cruised and crawled barefoot all winter, even on the tiled bathroom floor.

Lots of people like those soft leather shoes type things, but barefoot is best for developing muscles.

But surely there's no impact to foot development if a child is wearing slipper socks? They're really just thick socks with some grip.

shitebag · 11/03/2015 16:27

The leather shoes are like soft bootees they don't mould around the foot or squish anything.

I was sceptical about them but they are great if you have a sock hater because grippy tights just don't seem to exist :o

AnythingNotEverything · 11/03/2015 18:35

JJMB do grippy tights.

Have jojo maman belle slipper socks. My house is too cold for bare feet.

PuppyMummy · 11/03/2015 20:01

I got a 2 pack of slipper socks recently from next.

purpleme12 · 11/03/2015 22:24

My baby's just worn tights and socks to cruise. We have wooden floors and a cold house and she's been fine

gemmaloup · 11/03/2015 22:35

Primark do some grip socks with little patterns on the bottom for about 2.50 for a pack of 5. My little one uses them :)
