DD is 3 and a half.

She is still in nappies. We decided that it was time to get out the pants. She has always refused to sit on the potty or toilet. We thought it may be because the nappies are comfortable.

We started on Friday. She has constantly been urinating small amounts going no longer than 5 or 10 minutes between sitting on the toilet. Then she would wet herself. I read on a few sites that a sign of readiness was being able to go at least an hour or two between needing the toilet. DD is nowhere near this.

So is she not ready even at over 3YO? There are no disabilities and she has developed normally in other areas such as walking and talking.

Does she drink a lot? It may be worth limiting her drinks until she can go the hour between wees.
Do you take her to the loo with you to show her what to do?
She just may not be ready. Some kids aren't. It would be worth having a word with the preschool as they'll show her what the other kids are doing and chances are she'll want to do the same.
When we tried ds at 23 months, he spent a week outside in pants where he could wee to his leisure, we occasionally caught it in the potty and he was so pleased, but he just wasn't ready.
The next time he was 2y8m and got it straight away. The poos took about another 2 months though and we resorted to bribery in the end (he still wants a treat for having a poo in the loo lol!)
He's now coming up 3y7m and only the last 4 weeks has he been out of nighttime nappies (I'd recommend trying to do day and night altogether as ds was getting up in the night wanting a wee but we were on hol so kept him in nappies as scared of him wetting the bed!)
She'll get there, bribery if all else fails!! Good luck!
