6m/o won't reach for things..

I'm concerned that my six month old can't/won't reach for, or pick up things. She is not interested at all. She chews her hands alot and if something is put in her hand she'll either not notice or chew it without paying attention. 98% time her hands are in fists. I've reluctantly started her on baby rice this week, I really wanted to do BLW but given that she won't pick anything up..

When my older children were this age I couldn't keep them out of things, they wanted everything!

Did you try putting food in front of her? or sitting her on your knee whilst you eat with stuff she can have within reach?

My 6 mo ds is the same but seems to be getting better. He looks at something for ages before reaching for it but I see improvement every week so just persevere. She will get there.
