Hi. I don't know where else to go for advice so thought I would try here as facebook seemed inappropriate.
My son who is almost 10 keeps setting himself during the day, it isn't every day and there isnt a pattern except that it happens when he is distracted. He is dry at night and has been for 7 years! I've been to the doctors and they are baffled as there is nothing to suggest any infection that could cause it and there has been no dramatic changes to our lifestyles as he has been doing this over 7 years.
I've taken his electronics off him. Sold his Xbox, which broke my heart as I didn't want to upset but it hasn't made a difference. I take his ds off him and then when he gets it back he does it again. I know it's happening because he is distracted but if I take everything away will it make me a harsh mother?
He is my only child and I had him at 17 so we've grown up and been friends together but I just don't know what else to do. I'm so angry everytime it happens I cry but it happens again. I don't want him to end up being bullied and don't know what else to do

My son is 5 and still wetting himself several times a day. Another girl in his class is the same. Myself i wetted my bed until i was 13. The other little girls parents both wetted their bed until quite late.there is not much you can do about it like the GP probably told you.
Did you or your his dad used to have similar problem? I stopped because i was a bit concerned about it myself (it took 13 years) and at the same tome my mum used to put "i love you" notes everywhere (under my pillow, in my pickets, nags etc..)
I think both things did it for me but it is probably different for every child.
Dont beat yourself up. I know it is disheartening . It Will pass!!!

my brother is 12, he does this. He's on tablets and under a consultant which helps, they are thinking also that maybe his bladder needs stretching. Don't know if it's maybe something similar, hth
