My 2yo son has changed from a very well behaved lad to a monster. I was so proud of his behaviour before, now he is a nightmare. He smacks his older brother alot. He takes toys off him and snatches. I am finding discipline a problem. Its like he doesnt care. I have tried the naughty step. He just plays with the shoes out there. Have no where else to put the shoes by the way.His favourite word is no!!! Need to find a discipline that works and stick to it. Help please my poor 6yo who is bullied by him and me for listening to the comotion!

No great solutions for you but sympathise a lot. My 2 yr old dd does this to my 3.5 yr old ds. Until recently we have always been telling him off for doing things to her, now he will come to us crying that she has hit him and if we ask her if she has, she grins and says yes.

So far the naughty step is quite effective for her as she cries if you even mention it to her. However, and God forgive me for being such a horrible mother, the most effective thing of all is to ask her if she thinks her favourite and much loved toy likes such behaviour and maybe the toy would like to stay in mummy and daddy's room if she does it again. I have never had to carry through this threat and not sure I would have the strength of will to do it if required but it is stunningly effective!

They sound like my Dd, she is 2 aswell!
She was always gentle with her younger cousin, but now she wants to play too my Dd has started pushing her and has smacked her.
I know you have to disapline them but i do think its the age where they realise they can have an effect on others. Another phase!

you could be describing my two.

The naughty step can still work, it just doesnt need to be the naughty step.

i found that those little circle shaped rugs they sell at IKEA are great as naughty spot's. (im sure you can get an alternative and tehya re quite cheap)

you can then move the spot around and it is transportable.
I actualy used the naughty spot on a group visit to the park. the principles are all the same, they sit there for 1 minute for every year of life, if they get off they return and the timer starts again. if your persistant it will sink in.

he is still very young and he will be pushing boundaries all the time, thats what 2 year olds do.
