Is having a chewed dummy safe?

My son has starting chewing his dummy's and they now have holes in, I'm worried he's going to chew the end off and choke on it. I'm surprised how easy he has chewed through them.

I was hoping it would make him not like the dummy anymore but no such luck. I keep saying you've broken it and I haven't got anymore.

Is it best to take them away once they've been chewed?

Yes,..Take it away because he could choke on it. Not all children bite the dummy like that so it may be time to stop it if he is going to do this.
