losing control with the 3yr old

hello
need help to deal with my 3yr old throwing tantrums abt almost everything

Do you always give several warnings before you change an activity or do something new? Does he get enough sleep? Do you try a drink and biscuit when he gets unreasonable (hunger and thirst often make toddlers doollaly)? Do you give loads of praise for OK behaviour? Do you try distraction? Ignoring bad behaviour? Humour? Turning things into a game?
That's all the suggestions I have.
