It's car seats again...

Hello!
I have a 2 year old DD, she's in a britax first class plus, facing forwards. With a 5 point harness.
I have a ford focus 2007 model, and when I put dd in the car she's hitting her head on the roof. It's the same in my mums Nissan juke.
It's becoming a bit of a struggle, she is so cramped in the seat. She's very tall and I can't have anyone in the front seat as that seat has to go right forward because of dds legs.
She weighs 12.7kg and I have to do a 2.5 hour trip EOW to her dads and looks so uncomfy and her head lolls.

Any advice would be really grateful!

are you looking to buy a new one? She will still need a harnessed seat but maybe you could go and try a variety in your car and see what fits best.

Most manufacturers websites have either lists or something interactive that will tell you what car seats fit in your car.

For a long journey, you can get neck rests for toddlers to help with the lolling neck, I'm sure I saw some in Mothercare.

I've just bought a Britax Evolva for DD2 who's 4 on Sunday. The seat sits much lower in the car than her old stage 1 Maxi Cosi Tobi. The Evolva is uses a 5-point harness until 18kgs then the car's seatbelt as a high-back booster from then onwards. DD is only 12.9kgs so she'll be harnessed for quite a while and I only replaced the old seat as she was able to get her arms out of the straps. I would have gone for the new Britax Advansafix (I think it's called) as I'd have preferred an isofix seat but my car doesn't have a top-tether point so it wouldn't have fitted.
